Top 3 players who could replace Sadio Mane if he leaves this summer

World football is suspended due to the coronavirus outbreak, which leaves all Premier League fans at least hopeful to see the season completed.  Liverpool are leading the league table and will win the trophy for the first time since 1990 should the competition not be cancelled.  However, it’s not the only issue the Reds could face, with one of their main strikers, Sadio Mane, linked with the move to Real Madrid. This could mean Jurgen Klopp’s side would need a strong attacking option as the Senegal international’s replacement. Let’s take a look at the three players who could perfectly fit for the Reds squad in case of Mane’s exit.

Timo Werner

He has also contributed in the Bundesliga side’s game during the qualification to the Champions League quarter-finals. Werner is ready for new challenges and is eager to join Liverpool amid Jurgen Klopp’s admiration. The Athletic’s Liverpool correspondent Simon Hughes has revealed: “He [Werner] really wants to move to Liverpool. It looks like the next few weeks might see some movement. They’re going to be trying to do things a little quieter. He’s desperate to play for Liverpool.”

Jason Sancho

He has scored 14 goals and provided 16 assists in just 23 games this season.  The England international is linked with the move to a number of clubs, with Manchester United leading the race.  Speaking on the talented winger, Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has told RMC Sport: “Jadon is a great, great talent, maybe the greatest talent in Europe currently of players under the age of 21. In my opinion, he has the potential to become one of the two or three best players in the world in the years to come. If one day he comes to us and says that he wants to leave the club, then we’ll discuss it.”

Leroy Sane

Germany champions have been linked with the player since last summer. They are believed to join the race again during the upcoming transfer window. However, Sane's possible move to the Bundesliga side could not materialise, which will give the Reds a great chance to sign the player.  Even former Citizens defender Danny Mills has suggested Sane is a more 'realistic' option to replace Mane. He told Football Insider: "He [Sane] is coming back from injury and has been linked with a move away recently and could be surplus to requirements. He is young, a great talent and has experience. That would be more realistic but I do not know if Manchester City would sell to rivals.”
