Top 10 clubs having received the most transfer fees (2010-2019)

Football clubs not only invest a lot of money but also receive big transfer fees by selling their players. French club Monaco is a great example of a team that trains players and sells them by receiving major fees for that. According to CIES Football Observatory, Monaco is the team having benefited the most from investments made by big-five-league clubs for the recruitment of new players. Over the past decade, French team received more than one billion euro including transfers of James Rodriguez (75m €), Anthony Martial (60m €), Benjamin Mendy (57.5m €), Kylian Mbappe (135m €) and Thomas Lemar (70m €). Chelsea also received a lot of money over 800 million euros which include huge transfer deals of Juan Mata (44.7m €), David Luiz (49.4m €), Oscar (60m €), Diego Costa (66m €) and Eden Hazard (100m €). Spanish La Liga champion Barcelona is in the 8th place with 726m euro received money and a major part of it is Brazilian winger Neymar’s transfer: 222 million euros. Other big deals were Alexis Sanchez (42.5m €), Cesc Fabregas (33m €), Paulinho (42m €), Jasper Cillessen (35m €) and Malcom (40m €) transfers. This year Champions League winner Liverpool is in the last place of the chart with 716 million euro received transfer fees. It includes huge deals of Fernando Torres (58.5m €), Luis Suarez (81.7m €), Raheem Sterling (63.7m €), Christian Benteke (32.2m €) and Philippe Coutinho (145m €).
