Arsenal star Sokratis insists it does not matter who is the club captain.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang replaced Granit Xhaka as the club captain. Aubameyang captained the Gunners from the start against Wolves last weekend, but his first official game as skipper will be against Leicester City at the weekend should Unai Emery hand him a recall.
"For me, it's more important that Auba first has to score, he has to do his work," the centre-back said. "The captaincy or who has this [the armband] in the pitch, I don't think it's very important. What kind of character is he? What do you think? He's a very good guy.
"I said something, who has the captaincy is not very important. It's important that all the team is good in the dressing room. We are like a family. In the end who brings [onto] the pitch the captaincy is the last thing."
The Gabon international has scored eight goals this season so far.
