Timo Werner admits Chelsea had developed a major fear under Frank Lampard

Timo Werner has revealed Chelsea players had developed a growing fear under Frank Lampard that they would not qualify for the Champions League but the current manager Thomas Tuchel has already changed it. The Blues had won just two of the previous eight games in charge of Lampard and were sitting in 9th place in the league table. Now they are close to the top four spot, after celebrating a win in the last three games under the new-appointed German boss. Despite the fact that the sacking of the English manager met criticism, Werner admits the club players now have more positive attitude towards the game. "If we go back three or four matches, when the manager was not yet here, we were nine or ten points behind the top four," the attacker told Chelsea's 5th Stand app. "We watched the table and were like, ‘oh, it might not be so good at the end of the season’. "Now we are really good, back in shape, and I think if we keep going like this we can put more pressure on the other teams."
