Tim Sherwood thinks £40k-a-week Liverpool star wants to play in a different position

Tim Sherwood believes Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold would prefer the number eight role at the club. The 22-year-old has established himself as one of the key players in Jurgen Klopp's squad. Recently he struggles to impress with his side, and Sherwood thinks that Alexander-Arnold, who has long been touted as a future midfielder, would prefer a Steven Gerrard-like role if we were to ask him. “Some of the youth coaches at Liverpool, they will say as a kid Trent was a midfielder,” he said. “You ask him now, which position does he want to play? He will say as a number 8, like Steven Gerrard – up and down.”
