Manchester United entered 2021 in the second place of the Premier League table. The Red Devils are in the midst of a title fight despite their hectic start to the season. However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side still need reinforcements in order to fight for the trophy.

Jadon Sancho remains on the list of potential incomings. The England international was on the verge of joining the Red Devils in the summer transfer window, however, Borussia Dortmund blocked his way. Now is the time to make the German club an offer and call their bluff. Sancho has been without a league goal and it proves that he is unhappy in Germany.

Solskjaer needs to sign a long term replacement for Nemanja Matic and AZ Alkmaar’s 23-year-old midfielder Teun Koopmeiners would add good depth to United’s ranks. Koopmeiners has scored 10 goals this season and provided five assists for AZ. He reads the game well, can play in the Matic role, and could become a very useful addition.

Defence is perhaps the main addition United need to strengthen. Bayern Munich’s David Alaba is available amid a contract dispute. He has won nine league titles at Bayern plus cup and Champions League medals too, and is still only 28. The Austrian’s experience could be vital to add to United’s defence.
