Three players Arsenal could sign on loan this January

Arsenal concluded 2023 on a disappointing note, facing consecutive Premier League defeats and trailing five points behind leaders Liverpool.

Despite exits from the Carabao Cup and FA Cup, the Gunners still have a chance to salvage their season with potential success in the top-flight title race and the Champions League last 16 against Porto.

Financial constraints under Financial Fair Play may lead Arsenal to explore loan signings for squad reinforcement. Three possible loan targets for the Gunners include:

1. Karim Benzema – Al-Ittihad

The French striker, who moved to Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League last summer, is considering a return to Europe. Despite being in good form with 12 goals and three assists, the 36-year-old has missed recent training sessions.

With his prolific goal-scoring record, Benzema could offer an upgrade to Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah.

2. Goncalo Ramos – Paris Saint-Germain

Having been on the radar of top European clubs last summer, the 22-year-old joined Paris Saint-Germain on loan with an €80 million buy clause, which has been triggered. Falling out of favor under manager Luis Enrique, Ramos may be available for a loan deal with a buy clause.

The Portuguese forward impressed with 27 goals and 12 assists for Benfica last season.

3. Goncalo Inacio – Sporting Lisbon

While Arsenal's central defense seems solid with Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba, a late loan move for Inacio could be considered if reinforcements are needed. The club has been monitoring Inacio, and a potential loan with an obligation to buy for €60 million has been speculated.

Sporting previously accepted a similar deal from Tottenham Hotspur for Pedro Porro last winter.
