According to Transfermakrt, Real Madrid star Raphael Varane is the fifth most expensive defender with a market value of €64 million. Varane has played in 23 La Liga games for his club. The French international has had a passing accuracy of 87%. He has made an average of 1.2 tackles per game.
Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson has the same market value as Varane. He has played in all but one of Liverpool’s 29 Premier League games this season. He has had a passing accuracy of 83.5% and has made an average of 1.7 tackles per game. The 26-year-old has also scored a goal and assisted seven Premier League goals this season.
Fourth most-expensive defender is Juventus’ Matthijs de Light with a market value of € 67.5 million. He has played in 20 games of Juventus in the Serie A. He has had a passing accuracy of 90% and has made an average of 1.2 tackles per game. The Dutch defender has scored two goals in the Serie A.
Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk has a market value of €80 million. Van Dijk has played in all 29 games for Liverpool in the Premier League this season. He has had a passing accuracy of 89% and has made an average of 0.8 tackles per game. Van Dijk has also scored four goals and assisted one in the 2019-20 Premier League.
Trent Alexander-Arnold is the most expensive defender in the world, with a market value of € 99 million. Alexander Arnold has played all 29 Premier League games for Liverpool this season. The defender has had a passing accuracy of 76% and has made an average of 1.6 tackles per game. He has also scored two goals and assisted 12 in the Premier League.
