Three affordable right-backs Tottenham could target this summer

Tottenham Hotspur right-back Serge Aurier has been linked with Italian giants AC Milan over a summer move. The Ivorian international is said to be on the Rossoneri’s radar as they plan to sell Davide Calabria or Andrea Conti. Regardless of Aurier’s future, it appears clear Spurs need to invest in at least one new right-back this summer. However, having missed out on Champions League football and with the financial ramifications of Covid-19, any additions will need to be affordable. Metz defender Fabien Centonze has established himself as one of the brightest stars in French football. The 24-year-old featured in every single minute for the side last season and provided three direct assists for goals. Centonze averages an impressive 4.8 tackles and interceptions combined per league game. He would likely be available for a relative bargain. Bouna Sarr of Marseille is another option. The 28-year-old is reportedly available for a price of £15million as Marseille look to ease their financial worries. Primarily a right-back despite his versatility across defence and midfield, Sarr netted two goals last season and provided three assists. The third one is Nottingham Forest defender Matty Cash, who scored three goals and provided five assists for the club last season. Cash has been the most consistent performer in Forest’s promotion push and despite his loyalty to the club, he may now believe this is the right time to move on. Cash, 22, has now made over 150 senior appearances and despite his versatility has nailed down the right-back slot at Forest. Source: Football.london
