Thomas Tuchel personally called Chelsea ace for potential move, Christian Falk reports

Bayern Munich are currently facing a late transfer market challenge as they seek to sign Chelsea's Trevor Chalobah before the impending deadline this Friday.

Bayern are interested in a loan arrangement, but the Blues prefer a more permanent exit for the 24-year-old defender this summer, according to Christian Falk.

Thomas Tuchel has expressed his interest in the Englishman and even reached out with a personal phone call. The plan is to bring the defender in as a replacement for the departed Benjamin Pavard in the fullback position.

Considering that the German manager has previously worked with Chalobah during his time at Stamford Bridge, where he gave the West London academy graduate first-team opportunities in the 2021/22 season, this transfer could make a lot of sense for the Bundesliga giants if they can negotiate favorable terms.

“Bayern had a bad experience when they let Benjamin Pavard go to Inter Milan without a replacement." the journlaist wrote in his exclusive column with CaughtOffside.

“They’re having problems now with getting Trevor Chalobah. It’s hard for them to agree a deal, as they want a loan and Chelsea want to just sell him by including a mandatory buy-option.

“Thomas Tuchel made a call to Chalobah to persuade him to come to Munich.“
