New Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel has revealed he wanted to sign N'Golo Kante for his team. Former PSG manager was appointed as the Blues boss on Tuesday as Frank Lampard was relieved from his managerial role on Monday.
Tuchel's first game as Chelsea manager came on Wednesday. It ended in a goalless draw against Wolves.
Unfortunately, Kante was not available for the game, as he is currently out with a hamstring injury. During this season the midfielder has made overall 24 appearances for the Blues and has provided two assists.
“The funny thing is when you join a team in the middle of the season, I already know the likes of Kai [Havertz], Timo [Werner], Toni [Rudiger]. I wanted many years to have N’Golo Kante in my team and now I have him here, also Olivier Giroud, we have a clear picture,” Tuchel said in a press conference, as quoted by
Goal.
