Thomas Tuchel comments raise doubt over potential Arsenal role amid Mikel Arteta struggles

Arsenal are currently struggling in the Premier League, facing the worst start of the campaign since 1981. They are sitting in 15th place in the league table near the relegation zone. Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has been under pressure recently, though he gets the support of Arsenal board. But there are still talks over his possible sacking, while Thomas Tuchel, who was relieved of his duties by PSG on Christman eve, has been linked with the move to the Emirates Stadium. However, it is another North London club that the German coach has spoken of his admiration for in the past. "As a little kid, in my garden, when I played [football] I was always [playing] as a team from the Bundesliga but there was one game when I played as Tottenham Hotspur because I liked the name so much," he said prior to Dortmund's Europa League round of 16 match against Spurs back in 2016. "I didn't have a picture and I didn't know they played in London so to play them in two legs was very special. What I didn't know as a kid is what I felt today and yesterday, that there are so many friendly people here. "The coaching staff and the staff in the stadium and dressing room and benches and so on, was unbelievable. Such great support and atmosphere, so many friendly people, they made us feel welcome. "Thanks a lot and best of luck to the club."
