Thierry Henry has praised Bukayo Saka after his first full season with Arsenal.
The 19-year-old was one of the club’s top performers this season and played the most minutes out of any outfield player. Saka was this week called up in Gareth Southgate’s final 26-man England squad for Euro 2020.
Henry briefly coached Saka during his spell as U-18 manager of Arsenal, along with the likes of Joe Willock and ex-academy players like Glen Kamara and Josh DaSilva.
“You could see that he wanted to run at people, he wanted the ball, he was brave on the ball," Henry said to
Goal.
“It was too early to tell and when I saw him breaking into the first team because it was after I left.
“I was like: Wow, it’s amazing. I always liked the attitude of the kid, his commitment. And what I like about him is he cares about his club, and he will do whatever to make sure that the team wins.”
