Thierry Henry has hailed the ‘efficiency’ in Raheem Sterling’s game compared to when he was at Liverpool.
Manchester City beat Sporting Lisbon 5-0 during their first-leg last-16 encounter, with Sterling curling his effort from distance into the top corner.
Arsenal legend Henry stated that, back in his Liverpool days, that goal Sterling scored yesterday would have ‘ended up in the stadium at Everton’, but now he is dispatching them.
“This is what I am saying, he scored one like that against Southampton a couple of years ago during the dying moments of the game,” said Henry.
“Before, when he was at Liverpool, that would have ended up in the stadium at Everton.
“But now it goes into the back of the net. Efficiency. This is a guy that has to play all the time.”
It's been seven years since Sterling swapped the colours of Liverpool for those on the blue half of Manchester for £49 million
