The Telegraph: Werner could be announced by Chelsea this week

Timo Werner could officially be announced as a Chelsea player this week, according to the Telegraph. Matt Law explains that Leipzig are not listed on German stock exchange so the clubs are free to announce the deal at a point agreed by both clubs. That could be as early as this coming week, though Leipzig could push that back to the end of the Bundesliga season or - perhaps even later - when their Champions League run ends. Chelsea have agreed to pay Werner’s £54 million release clause after tabling a contract offer for the RB Leipzig striker. Werner has been in superb form for Leipzig in the Bundesliga this season, scoring 25 goals in 30 appearances to help the club rise to third in the table. Source: Evening Standard
