The Premier League clashes four Leicester City players will miss nest season

Four Leicester City players will miss a clutch of matches in the new season with the Africa Cup of Nations to be played during the winter. The Foxes will miss key Nigerian duo Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho, as well as Senegal’s Papy Mendy and Ghana’s Daniel Amartey as they represent their countries in the month-long tournament. While the schedule for the tournament has not been announced, it seems likely that City’s quartet will at least miss three club games, even if their nation gets knocked out in the group stage. The first game the quartet will miss is the FA Cup third round, where Leicester will hope to avoid Premier League opposition as they defend their crown. Then they will travel to Burnley and host Brighton. Against bottom-half outfits, Brendan Rodgers may feel his side has enough to cope, even without Ndidi’s steel and Iheanacho’s goals. The next weekend will see the FA Cup’s fourth round played, before Leicester then get a weekend off as part of the Premier League campaign's new mid-season break. In the following midweek, they travel to Liverpool for a potentially-crucial encounter in the battle for a top-four spot. The game at Anfield is scheduled for February 9, a few days after the conclusion to Afcon, but if any of City’s players make the final, it will likely be too quick a turnaround for them to travel to Merseyside.
