The €100m striker that Wolves and Liverpool could have had for €17m

Wolverhampton Wanderers and Liverpool have been previously linked with Benfica striker Carlos Vinicius, who is now being valued at as much as €100m. The Brazilian striker has netted 16 goals in just 29 appearances in all competitions this term, including a strike in the Champions League, and, indeed, it’s attracted interest from clubs from around Europe - including those towards the top of the Premier League. Both Wolves and Liverpool have both been interested in Vinicius previously, as reports emerged of Wanderers trying to sign Vinicius previously only for the forward’s failure to secure a work permit meaning that the move to Molineux didn’t work out. Benfica president Luis Filipe Vieira said of Vinicius: “In the beginning of the season, we also bought one other footballer for €17 million, and sometime later he will perhaps be sold for €100 million.” Source- Birmingham Live
