"The deal is there": Duncan Castles provides transfer update on Thiago Alcantara amid Liverpool links

Duncan Castles has been dicussing the latest transfer talks on Thaigo Alcantara amid Liverpool links. Bayern Munich midfielder has been heavily linked with the move to Anfield as Jurgen Klopp is eager to improve the squad to defend the Premier League title next season. Reds boss believes the 29-year-old player would be ideal for the club's midfield, while the negotiations between the two sides are still in process. And speaking about Thiago's possible move to Liverpool, Castle told during the latest episode of The Transfer Window Podcast: “Thiago we know is another deal that has been set up by Klopp. “He’s a player he really wants, he believes will fit into the midfield, sort some of the problems they have had with the midfield. “He’s been looking for a long time for a player who can provide the physical effort and play the pressing game that is essential to being part of Liverpool’s midfield and be a more creative force than the individuals he has in there at the moment. “Bayern are prepared to let the player go, they’ve told him, ‘okay, you can leave if you’re not going to sign a new contract with us’, and he has, I think, one year left at Bayern, but [they] need over €30m as a transfer fee. “So the deal is there. The player’s terms are there, the player wants to go, Klopp has set it up, FSG aren’t paying the money required to make it happen.”
