Takumi Minamino has opened up on his time at Liverpool amid uncertainty over his future. The Reds playmaker spent the second half of last season on loan at Southampton.

Encouraged by his performances for Southampton and Japan, this summer could prove to be a turning point for Minamino and allow him to really kickstart his Liverpool career. The forward remains a part of Jurgen Klopp’s plans.

Minamino has taken part in an interview with fellow Japan international Atsuto Uchida, where he spoke about his future at Liverpool.

The Japanese said: “I don’t know what will happen, but for now, for the preseason, I’d like to go back to Liverpool and do my best there.”
