Super League clubs suggest August return and possible January Grand Final

Super League clubs have reportedly drafted a proposal that would see top-flight rugby league return in August. As the BBC claim, clubs have come up with a detailed plan with the aim of getting the season going in three months, with an August 16 start being spoken about. They are also optimistic that they will be able to welcome fans into their stadium from October, pending government approval and an August start ensures that clubs won’t miss out on too much matchday income before then. The fixtures propose three different end dates, with November 28th, December 12th, or mid-January being proposed for a Grand Final date.According to the plan a majority of games will take place after October 1. The report also claims the league will pick up where it left off and any postponed games prior to the shutdown more than likely to be played before the official restart date. There are three different ways for the restart with games after October 1. The first would see nine matches played with one play-off semi-final and a Grand Final on November 28. The second proposal is to play 11 games after October 1 with the Grand Final on December 12, with the third proposal being to play 15 games after October 1 and moving the play-offs and Grand Final to January 2021. The Challenge Cup final would be November 28. Source- HullLive
