Steven Gerrard gives his verdict on Jack Simpson after Celtic win

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has spoken out on Jack Simpson following the Gers win over Celtic. Simpson, who joined the Gers in the winter transfer window from Bournemouth, started the game from the first minutes and played full 90 mins. Gerrard's side celebrated a 4-1 victory over Celtic as Kemar Roofe formed a double while Alfredo Morelos and Jermain Defoe also got their names on the scoresheet, while Osonne Edouard scored for Celtic. Gerrard said: "It was his first start in a game of this magnitude for us. We trusted he could do it. "He had a couple of moments within the game. We’ll analyse his performance and so will he, because he’s a kid who wants to get better. "I thought he did a lot of things well. He was up against one of the best players in the league in Edouard, who gets assisted well by Elyounoussi and Turnbull. "It was a tough challenge for him. He was on a yellow card, which is always edgy. All in all, I thought he handled the situation really well. "There are certainly areas he can get better but Jack realises that, too."   source - TheHerald
