Stephen A. Smith: “Luke Walton needs to make one change to SAVE Lakers star”

ESPN pundit Stephen A. Smith who saw the Lakers lose their third game of the season to the San Antonio Spurs on Monday night thinks LeBron James is at risk of burnout unless Los Angeles Lakers coach Luke Walton slows the side down. “The pace concerns me because Luke Walton needs to find a way to slow it down,” Smith said. “LeBron James can’t play at this pace and last 82 games. “The man is 33. It’s too much for a guy that age, you can’t sustain it.” Fox Sports analyst Nick Wright slammed the four-time MVP for his performance against the Spurs. “LeBron’s going to get killed for missing those two free throws and it’s justifiable,” Wright said on First Things First. “Since the beginning of last year, he’s been awful in these late free throw situations. “[He’s] been the worst player in the league whose shot at least 10 of these clutch potential free throws in the last year. “He’s going to get killed for that but they lost this game a number of times. They were fortunate to be in overtime. “The first half, LeBron was really bad. Kuzma kept them in the game. The second half, while LeBron’s offence got going, the Lakers’ defence was nonexistent.”
