Southgate sends a warning to Jack Grealish and his Man City teammates

The England national team's manager Gareth Southgate has warned Jack Grealish and his Manchester City teammates about the boundaries of their celebrations following their treble triumph.

Manchester City, who recently clinched a historic tally by winning the Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League titles, partake in three days of celebrations to commemorate their victory. Grealish's celebratory activities caught particular attention on social media. Now that the Citizens are back in England for the Euro 2024 qualifiers against Malta on Friday, Southgate emphasized the importance of maintaining a balance between celebrations and professional commitments until the season concludes.

"What is different is that everyone posts everything [on social media]. I wouldn’t have liked a few of my nights out to be posted publicly. My generation would have been in a lot more problems", said the 52-year-old, drawing comparisons between himself and the players.

Despite this, the English coach clarified that Pep Guardiola's men were not expected to feature in the upcoming game against Malta, and that he has personally spoken to them about the need to remain focused.

The England squad's Citizens are Jack Grealish, Kyle Walker, Phil Foden, John Stones, and Kalvin Phillips, none of whom are anticipated to start in the match against Malta. The team currently holds the top position in their qualifying group and is confident of securing a comfortable victory against their first opponent.

The celebrating players are likely to return to the pitch on Monday for the match against North Macedonia.
