Sir Alex Ferguson's opinion on Mauricio Pochettino not getting the Manchester United job

Sir Alex Ferguson reportedly wanted Mauricio Pochettino to be the next Manchester United manager instead of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer back in 2018. As the club sacked Jose Mourinho, they have appointed the Norwegian as a temporary boss. Later he convinced Ed Woodward and United board that he is the right person to take charge of the Premier League team and signed a permanent deal. Solskjaer shares strong bonds with Ferguson to this day. However, according to the Daily Mail at the time of the appointment, the legendary boss actually wanted to see Pochettino at Old Trafford. The reason behind Ferguson's wish was that the Argentine professional was the best in his business at those times, while United should have hired only the elite.
