Manchester United's legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson has been full of praise for "fantastic" Kieran Tierney ahead of the European Championships this summer.
The Arsenal full-back is in line to feature for Scotland at the European Championships, provided he recovers from a knee injury in time, as the Tartan Army prepare to play at a major tournament for the first time in 23 years.
And Ferguson has praised both Tierney and Liverpool's Andy Robertson as he named them as key men for Steve Clarke and the way he sets up his side.
"I am optimistic," he said, speaking to the official
You Tube channel of the Scotland national team ahead of the summer tournament.
"Players that are playing in England - [Kieran] Tierney has been absolutely fantastic at Arsenal, absolutely fantastic, [Andy] Robertson the last two years at Liverpool has been unbelievable."
Ferguson's comments echo the view of Gunners head coach Mikel Arteta, who has also been full of praise for the impact Tierney has had with the Gunners since joining from Celtic in the summer of 2019.
Speaking earlier this year, Gunners boss said:
"The right words to describe Kieran [Tierney] would be determination, passion and energy - that's what is he about.
"He is determined in every action, and puts it all into every game and the energy levels he provides to the team.
"He gives us something different on that left side and scored a great goal [against Benfica]."
