Sir Alex Ferguson has his choice manager to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United if he's sacked

Sir Alex Ferguson reportedly wants Mauricio Pochettino to be the next Manchester United manager if the Red Devils decide to sack club legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Solskjar is currently under huge pressure and is at risk to lose his job at United after his side’s 5-0 humiliation at home to Liverpool on Sunday.

United legend Ferguson is still said to be backing his former player to turn things around at the Theatre of Dreams, but has identified his top choice to replace the Norwegian is the club do opt for a change.

According to The Daily Star, PSG boss Pochettino is Ferguson’s number one choice should Solskjaer be relieved of his duties, with the Red Devils legend a ‘huge admirer’ of the Argentine. Pochettino spent five years at United’s Premier League rivals Tottenham and, while he failed to win any trophies at Spurs, he established himself as one of the most highly-rated coaches in Europe.
