Former Premier League owner Simon Jordan has admitted that Crystal Palace were once in talks to hire Manchester United’s future interim boss Ralf Rangnick.
According to
The Athletic, Manchester United have
reached an agreement with Lokomotiv Moscow that will see Rangnick sign a six-month contract before taking on a ‘consultancy’ role at Old Trafford.
Speaking to
talkSPORT, the former Palace owner explained.
“15, 16 years ago, we spoke to him at Palace. He was far, far way beyond us because we were a Championship club,” said Jordan.
“His agents were putting him around a little bit and he was just on a different level. One my guys (spoke to him but) it was just not right for us and it wasn’t right for him because he was on a different level.
“This guy has got a body of work which is far different to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s, there’s more vindication to while you’d make this appointment (at Manchester United).”
