Shkodran Mustafi speaks out after leaving Arsenal to join Schalke

Former Arsenal star Shkodran Mustafi has spoken out for the first time after his move to Schalke 04. Mustafi said it was an ‘honour’ to represent the club across his four-and-a-half-year stay in north London. Schalke wrapped up a deal to land Mustafi once it became clear Ozan Kabak would was on his way to Liverpool. The Germany international signed a short-term deal. "Hi Gunners, after 4 years, 151 matches and 2 FA Cup trophies, I just wanted to say thank you to the Arsenal community, our great staff, the fans and of course my team-mates," Mustafi said in a brief statement on his social media pages "Together we went through the good and not so good times. But we stood together. Arsenal is a fantastic club with a great tradition and I always felt that it is a pleasure and honour to wear the AFC jersey. My family and I will always remember the time we had in London and with Arsenal! Gooners, I wish you all the best! Thank you! Musti."
