Shkodran Mustafi will not be punished by the FA for his goal celebration after opening the scoring for Arsenal in their won over Cardiff City on Sunday.
Mustafi, who was born in Germany to an Albanian family from Macedonia, found the back of the net with a header, however then put his hands together and flapped his fingers in reference to the double-headed eagle, which is present on Albania’s national flag.
The same gesture was made by Granit Xhaka and Xherdan Shaqiri during World Cup aka and Xherdan Shaqiri made the gesture with their hands when scoring for Switzerland against Serbia.
The FA confirmed on Monday that it would be taking no action against Mustafi.
