Arsenal are close to a loan deal that could see Martin Odegaard joining the North London club during the January transfer window.
The 22-year-old has requested Real Madrid to leave on loan amid the limited playing time at the Spanish club. And
Sport claim Gunners have all chances to land the midfielder, despite the reported interest from Real Sociedad.
Odegaard could become a good addition to Mikel Arteta's squad, while it remains to be seen which number he will take in case of making a move to the Emirates Stadium.
The Norwegian professional's favorite number of 21 is not available at Arsenal, so here are some other options for the player.
No. 4 is usually associated with a defender, though it also has some appealing history for the club midfielders. Recently this number was occupied by William Saliba before his loan move to Ligue 1 side Nice.
No. 5 could be another option for Gunners newcomer, though Thomas Partey is more likely to take this number, following Sokratis' exit from the club.
No. 10 is one of the most possible options on the list after Mesut Ozil's departure. It could be the first time in 15 years that someone takes this number right after their transfer. The last man to take the number immediately after his arrival was William Gallas.
No. 11 is available since Lucas Torreira's loan move to Atletico Madrid in the summer. The number was worn by Van Persie, Sylvain Wiltord and Ian Wright and has a huge history.
No. 26 is also included on the list should Odegaard decide to choose a number in the 20's. It is vacant since Emiliano Martinez's move to another Premier League side, Aston Villa.
No. 27 has more history than the previous one, with Serge Gnabry, Gervinho and Emmanuel Eboue previously wearing it. The number is also available, following Konstantinos Mavropanos' loan exit from the Emirates Stadium.
