Sevilla boss breaks silence after Jules Kounde's failed transfer to Chelsea

Sevilla boss Julen Lopetegui has opened up on Jules Kounde following the player's failed transfer to Chelsea. The 22-year-old has been heavily linked with the move to Stamford Bridge during the summer transfer window. However, the deal didn't materialise as both sides couldn't agree on a transfer fee, with Sevilla expecting more than the Blues offered for the defender. “Koundé didn’t join Chelsea because our Sevilla board decided it was the right thing to do, based on the value of the offers," Lopetegui said (via sports journalist Fabrizio Romano). La Liga side's boss is optimistic about Kounde's future as he added: "For me it’s positive - he’ll perform again at top level.”
