Serie A side hand Olivier Giroud pre-contract to join on free transfer in summer

Lazio have offered Chelsea forward Olivier Giroud a summer move as they have intentions to sign the Frenchman on a free contract, according to reports. The 33-year-old has found his playing time limited at Stamford Bridge this season, having made just two league starts. The club boss Frank Lampard was eager to let the player leave during the January transfer window. However, the club failed to sign a replacement to Giroud, with the striker staying at the team. The France internationals' contract expires at the end of the season, and Le 10 Sport claim that Serie A club Lazio have already offered him a deal to join them in the summer. Giroud is believed to wish a move to Serie A despite his failed dream move to Inter Milan. However, recenlty the player has opened up on his future plans, saying: "I am a Chelsea player and now need to move on and look forward. I want to give everything for the team and my personal target is to play as much as I can so I can play in the Euros with my country. That is massive for me, things like that."
