Sergio Ramos clashed with Lionel Messi during Barcelona’s win over Real Madrid on Saturday evening.
Ramos and Messi were involved in two flashpoints during the first half at the Santiago Bernabeu but Ramos was lucky to escape without a yellow card after the second incident.
Messi angrily confronted Ramos after the incident and the Argentine had to be restrained by his Barca teammates.
But Ramos moved to play down the incident after the game and said Messi ‘took it very badly’.
“These things happen in games,” said Ramos
“I did not mean to catch in him. However, he has taken it very badly and stayed down. The referee made the decision and that is the end of it for me.”
