Scott McTominay makes honest claim over Manchester United teammate Paul Pogba

Scott McTominay has stated that his Manchester United teammate Paul Pogba is 'misunderstood'. Pogba has been plagued by injuries in the last year and has seen his playing time reduced until Ole Gunnar Solskjaer during the current campaign. The Frenchman will have just one year remaining on his United contract in the summer and openly flirted with the prospect of joining Real Madrid during the October international break. Pogba was heavily criticised for his comments earlier this month while on international duty, describing playing in the national team as a 'breath of fresh air' but was not critical of United. However, McTominay believes people have the wrong impression of the World Cup winner. "I remember watching Pogba at Juventus when I was in the reserves at United," he told Pro Direct Soccer. "I was like 'this guy is ridiculous'. "People don't know him. People don't. They don't know him for who he is. He is very misunderstood, in my opinion, for the way he is, his personality and what he brings the team. "Obviously he can have a bad game, everyone can have a bad game but because it's Paul Pogba it's magnified to a different level. When he plays well, he's up there with the very best. Top class."
