Al Ahli are reportedly prepared to offer Riyad Mahrez a salary of £43 million in order to lure him away from Manchester City to Saudi Arabia.
The 32-year-old winger's future is currently uncertain, as he struggled to secure regular starts towards the end of the 2022/3 season. Not starting in the FA Cup final or the Champions League final, Mahrez expressed disappointment about his limited playing time.
Amid the player's doubtful future at Etihad, Al Ahli have shown interest in Mahrez, as they aim to attract high-profile players during the summer transfer window. They have already secured signings such as Karim Benzema, N'Golo Kante, and Ruben Neves.
Additionally, Ilkay Gundogan is officially leaving City to join Barcelona, which may suggest that Mahrez could be the next to depart from the Premier League side.
According to The Daily Mail, Al Ahli are preparing a contract offer of a staggering £43 million over two years for Mahrez, which is five times his current salary at City.
While the player is open to potentially finishing his career in Saudi Arabia, he is uncertain about leaving City as he plays for one of the world's best teams that managed to win a treble last term.
Despite losing his starting position towards the end of the season, the Algeria professional displayed a high level of performance throughout the 2022/23 campaign, contributing 15 goals and 13 assists in 47 appearances.
