Chelsea will back Maurizio Sarri in his choice of a new centre-forward in January, reports say.
Chelsea dominated the match with Manchester United in the first half but the lack of a in-form striker was an issue for Alvaro Morata.
The
Daily Mail claim Chelsea are prepared to sign a top-class striker in the winter transfer window, with Krzysztof Piatek and Mauro Icardi top of Sarri’s wishlist.
It won’t be an easy task to convince Inter to part with their captain.
Inter would also demand a huge transfer fee of around £90million.
Genoa’s new sensation Piatek would be the preferred back-up and Chelsea think it might be easier to lure the Pole away from Italy than convince Inter to sell Icardi.
Sarri’s side lost to Manchester United and Liverpool over the weekend and secured a late draw against Manchester United.
