Alexis Sanchez will return to Manchester United next month and it will reportedly cause a £50m dilemma.
The 31-year-old's loan spell with Inter Milan ends at the end of the current Serie A campaign. The winger still has two years left on his £25m-a-year contract with the Red Devils but his future at the club remains uncertain.
It’s uncertain if head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is planning to integrate him into his plans next term and it may depend on whether he is able to land priority target Jadon Sancho.
However, according to the
Daily Mail, if Sanchez goes on loan again United will have several problems to solve. The Chilean reportedly isn’t interested in a move to China or the Far East and is keen to stay in Europe. He will also refuse to take a pay cut and unless the Red Devils can find a solution, they risk being stuck with Sanchez and his huge wages until the contract ends on June 30, 2022.
Inter have been paying half of Sanchez's £300,000-a-week basic salary but United will pay all of it once he returns next month. The Chile international is looking increasingly unlikely to suit Solskjaer’s plans with the emergence of Mason Greenwood too.
Sanchez has struggled with injury on loan and has netted two goals and provided seven assists in 23 games on loan at Inter.
