Saints v Arsenal will be rearranged

Premier League clash between Southampton and Arsenal has been postponed. Mikel Arteta's side have celebrated their 2 - 0 FA Cup win over Portsmouth on Sunday night due to Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Eddie Nketiah's goals. It was a good response from the Gunners, following their defeat to Olympiacos and exit from Europa League. Arteta revealed Arsenal players were suffering after their quit from European competition as he took the risk of making nine changes for the FA Cup win over the rivals, retaining only David Luiz and Bukayo Saka. "They fully deserve the chance and I know it is risky to play them in this competition but they are worth a risk," the club boss said. "I assessed the team and physically some of them were knackered, some of them had issues, some of them mentally were hanging on what happened that day. So I tried to pick the right team knowing how they were and I made the most of it. If you win, it is okay but if we had lost obviously it would have been the wrong decision." Arsenal should have faced the Saints on March 22. However, taking into consideration the FA Cup next round, the Premier League sides will have to reschedule their match.
