Sadio Mane makes bold claim over Ibrahima Konate's lack of game time at Liverpool

Ibrahima Konate was a highly-anticipated signing for Liverpool this summer, after a season full of defender injuries. However, the Frenchman is yet to make his Premier League debut with the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip starting for the Reds. According to Liverpool winger Sadio Mane, Konate's lack of playing time will not settle him away from the pitch.
“He is a very nice lad and from the first day he was with us I was really surprised because it was like he has been here for years,” Mané told the club’s official website. “With myself that was not the case because I am a bit shy, but he just came in and settled straightaway which is really important.   “You could see in pre-season that he was doing well from the start and we are really, really happy to have him. I feel that this year he will have a great season for Liverpool.”
Reds defender Joe Gomez also supported Mané's assessment of Konate.
“Ibou’s [Konaté] top,” said Gomez. “He’s a great player and has adapted straight away to our style of play.   “Obviously it can be high-intensity sometimes but he’s got all the attributes to thrive I think.”
