Rugby Football League chief executive Ralph Rimmer has a faith that the sporting world can overcome the coronavirus pandemic.
The RFL and Super League confirmed earlier this week that all games are suspended until at least April 3, due to rapidly spreading coronavirus.
Speaking about the suspension and the situation overall, Rimmer said:
“It has put us under a degree of stress but I wouldn’t make us different to any other sport or business in this country at this moment in time.
“We are here to hopefully help navigate these clubs through these waters.
“The government understands our position and our importance to the communities in which we work in and support and we will find a way through it.
“We’ve demonstrated over the last 125 years that we are a resilient and tough sport, we do stick together in times of trouble and I’ve no doubt that we will now.”
