Royal Ascot talking points – Day 3

STRADIVARIUS A GOLD-EN GREAT?

John Gosden’s superstar is once again the main attraction at Royal Ascot as he attempts to win the great old race for a third time on the spin.

It’s such a pity the crowds cannot cheer on the popular stayer at the track, but racing fans across the world will be right behind from afar.

THE CHASE IS ON!

Jim Crowley is setting the pace in the top-jockey standings with four winners, while Ryan Moore and James Doyle are on two apiece.

That said, a certain Italian rider could well have something to say about that by the end of the day. Frankie Dettori has seven outstanding rides and will have VBET scurrying for cover if things go his way early on.

WEATHER WATCH

Will it or won’t it? That’s the question trainers are asking today. Many forecasts suggest rain all day – Ascot had just over 13mm of the wet stuff overnight – which would mean the ground could alter markedly throughout the afternoon.

Fingers crossed the heavens keep shut.

Get the full SP for Royal Ascot with VBET, proud sponsors of champion jockey Brian Hughes, and get best odds guaranteed in every race.

You’ll also get paid out if your horse is first past the post and is then later disqualified or demoted.
