Manchester United former captain Roy Keane gives his verdict on how the Premier League season will finish

Roy Keane has given his opinion on how the Premier League season will end. Premier League and other major leagues in Europe are currently suspended due to coronavirus pandemic. On Thursday, UEFA announced the season should be completed somehow. They hinted at the introduction of mini-tournaments to decide Champions League and Europa League spots. However, Keane has warned Liverpool could see the title taken from them should the coronavirus pandemic last longer than expected. “As a football person, you’d love to get the games to finish,” said Keane, speaking to Sky Sports. “We’ve been saying that the last few weeks but the longer it goes on, we have to remind ourselves that health and safety is the most important thing. “You’d definitely like to see the season finished, however, that might be, whether it’s behind closed doors, play-off games, there are obviously options out there and you have to trust the people in charge to come up with the right decision. “I’ve heard a lot of things about just finishing the season with the table as it is but then do you bring two teams up and then five get relegated next year? There are teams like Aston Villa who are a game behind teams, so a points average? “It’s obviously a minefield at the moment but hopefully there is a way to get things finished. But the longer it goes on, the less chance there is that is going to happen.” Source: chroniclelive
