Ross Barkley has revealed Tammy Abraham's role in his decision to join Aston Villa on a season-long loan deal.
After the arrivals of Kai Havertz and Hakim Ziyech at Chelsea this summer, the midfielder dropped down the pecking order under head coach Frank Lampard - despite finishing last season strongly.
In his first interview as a Villa player, Barkley has spoken out about the conversation he had with Abraham - who had a loan spell at Villa Park - regarding signing the club.
"It's really exciting and I spoke to Tammy and he explained how he loves the club and said how good it is when the fans were there," Barkley said to
Villa TV.
"Hopefully they can all get back soon and we can enjoy it.
"We've adapted well to it but it's not the same without the fans."
