EA Sports have removed the image of Cristiano Ronaldo from their website and social media pages following the rape allegations that have surfaced earlier this week.
The company released a statement, in which it said: "We have seen the concerning report that details allegations against Cristiano Ronaldo. We are closely monitoring the situation, as we expect to cover athletes and ambassadors to conduct themselves in a manner that is consistent with EA’s values."
Ronaldo has “firmly denied” a rape allegation after Kathryn Mayorga accused the Portuguese of sexual assault in a Las Vegas hotel in 2009.
Both Juve and Ronaldo’s international head coach Fernando Santos have offered unwavering support to the 33-year-old.
The Juventus star ’s business appeared to be at risk following the first statement from Nike since the allegations were made.
Nike said: ‘We are deeply concerned by the disturbing allegations and will continue to closely monitor the situation.’
