Ronaldo’s hat-trick inspires Real Madrid to win Club World Cup

Ronaldo scored hat-trick against Kashima Antlers

Real Madrid are the champions of the world. Zinedine Zidane’s men lifted the Club World Cup trophy in Japan after defeating local club Kashima Antlers in a dramatic match.

Karim Benzema opened the scoreline early in the match. Luka Modric fired the ball towards the ball and the goalkeeper cleared it, but Benzema was the first to react and send the ball into the empty net.

However, Kashima Antlers weren’t playing in the final just to give up. Shibasaki equalized the score late in the first half after Real Madrid’s defensive misfunction. Moreover, Shibasaki managed to give a lead to his team in the early minutes of the second half after a powerful shot from 25 yards.

Being down in the score, Real Madrid started to push stronger and it gave benefits. Lucas Vazquez was brought down in the penalty box and the referee didn’t hesitate to show the penalty spot. Cristiano Ronaldo was accurate to make the score 2-2.

And the Balon d’Or winner proved his qualities again in the extra time. He not only gave an advantage to Real Madrid in the 98th minute but also completed his hat-trick in the 104th minute.

Kashima couldn’t recover from this shock and Real Madrid lifted the World Cup for the second time in last three years.
