Manchester United legends Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney and Rio Ferdinand had quite positive opinion about Ole Gunnar Solskjaer when he was coaching under Sir Alex Ferguson. The Red Devils are expected to unveil Solskjaer as as interim boss in the upcoming hours following Jose Mourinho’s sacking. Asked for his assessment of Solskjaer as a coach, Ronaldo replied: ‘He’s very good. I look for Ole like a man, not just coach now. He’s a fantastic guy and I have a great relationship with him. https://twitter.com/PogBaller_/status/1075117462448955392 Ferdinand predicted that Solskjaer’s ‘great ideas’ would stand him in good stead for a career in top level management. Asked how much respect United’s group had for Solskjaer, Ferdinand joked: ‘None, we don’t like him. We think he’s a bad guy and he can’t coach. ‘Nah, he’s a good guy. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a fantastic ambassador for football. ‘I’m sure he’ll go on to become a top coach as well because he has great ideas about the game and he’s working very hard at Carrington.’ Rooney added: ‘I’m sure he will one day become a manager and become a good one.’ Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino remains the main candidate to replace Mourinho.
