Portugal have announced their 26-man squad for the upcoming Euro 2020.
The reigning European champions arguably have one of the best squads and are looking to repeat their success five years later.
Players like, Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes, Ruben Dias, Bernardo Silva, Joao Cancelo, Joao Felix and more, did not only have successful campaigns at their clubs but also helped their teams win major trophies. And head coach Fernando Santos will be looking to getting the best out of his players this summer.
So with the European Championship on the horizon, here are the strongest ways Portugal can line up.
Rui Patricio will start in between the sticks, with Dias, Jose Fonte, Nuno Mendes and Cancelo forming the defence.
Sergio Oliveira and Ruben Neves will team up with Bruno Fernandes in the midfield, while Diogo Jota, Silva and Ronaldo will complete the lineup in the attack.
In this case, the defence will almost stay the same, with only Raphael Guerreiro replacing Mendes. Danilo Pereira and Ruben Neves will team up with Jota, Felix and Fernandes in the midfield. Ronaldo will obviously be the striker.
The defence stays the same as it was in the first case, while midfield will be formed by Joao Moutinho, Pereira and Fernandes. Jota, Bernardo Silva and Andre Silva will be the front three.
Portugal are in the strongest and the hardest group in this Euro: Group F, alongside Germany, France and Hungary. Their first game is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, June 15, against Hungary at the Ferenc Puskas Stadium, Budapest.
