Former Barcelona and Brazil national team legend Ronaldinho has spoken out on Champions League quarterfinals, including Barcelona – Manchester United and Manchester City – Tottenham matches.

Ballon d’Or winner in 2005 says he doesn’t understand why people exclude Spurs from favourites.

“Why can’t Spurs win the Champions League?” he told during exclusive interview with Daily Star.

“Because they don’t have the history in the competition – or because they have never won it before?

“Every team who has won the Champions League had to win it for the first time once.

“Their result against Manchester City, who are one of the best teams and have some of the best players in the competition, showed that they can compete with the best.

“At this stage they will believe they can go all the way – and if they play as they can then maybe they will.” he added.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side beat Manchester City at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium due to Son Heung-Min’s goal in the second half.

Spurs will face Pep Guardiola’s team twice in a week. After the second leg of quarterfinals both team will meet in Premier League.
