Ronald Koeman responds to Lionel Messi comments amid Manchester City transfer talk

Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman has responded to transfer speculations regarding the future of the club star Lionel Messi. The Argentine international has been heavily linked with the move to Manchester City amid the transfer interest from PSG. There have also been suggestions over the player's possible transfer to MLS in the United State as the last destination of his football career. Messi is in good relationship with Pep Guardiola, while his fellow Argentine Mauricio Pochettino looks set to be appointed as PSG's new manager. "I do not know if it is true about Pochettino to PSG," said Koeman. "If Messi decides his future, it will not depend on a coach. "I did not see the interview live, but I have seen it. "I have always been calm with Messi and I will not be calmer because he said that he will decide at the end of the season. "We’ll see what can happen. I appreciate Messi’s words because he is a very important player for the club and for football.”
