AS Roma made decision on Chris Smalling's future

Roma are currently in talks for signing Chris Smalling on a permanent deal. Smalling is on-loan at the Italian club from Manchester United. During his 14 appearances, the English centre-back has impressed the Serie A side. Now AS Roma's team manager Morgan De Sanctis has revealed they are looking into the possibility to sign the player. He told Sky Sport Italia: "It is well known we are trying to find a solution that makes everyone happy. We are in no rush, we want to get this right, and can also rely on the player, who said he is happy at Roma."  Smalling's impressive season has been interrupted when he picked up a knee injury and had to miss the 2 - 2 draw with Wolfsburg in the Europa League on Thursday. The 30-year-old is expected to return to the game in January.
